THE STORY:
"There’s something magical about Bondi at sunrise. The sky starts off in deep purples, slowly warming into an orange glow as the sun begins to rise. One morning, half-asleep but inspired, I grabbed my camera and headed down to the Icebergs pool. The swimmers were already in the pool, seamlessly floating through the cool blue while the ocean was crashing against its edge with water spraying up and catching the morning light. Everything was golden, soft, and peaceful—the perfect moment to capture. I lined up my shot, trying to get that balance between the swimmers, the pool, and the ocean beyond. Every so often, a wave would splash over, sending droplets flying, glistening in the sunlight. Looking back at that photo now, it’s more than just the swimmers or the sunrise—it’s a snapshot of Bondi’s soul. There’s the quiet of the early hour, the salt in the air, and that serene feeling of being completely connected to the moment. Out of all the photos I’ve taken, that one stands out. It reminds me of that perfect morning when Bondi was just waking up, and for a brief moment, everything felt timeless."
